The Dynamometer Test Stand for Stirling Machines STD20  

Many of our clients use the experimental Stirling Machine ST05G-CNC as a platform for their R&D projects. One of the main requirements thereby is the safe and reproducible operation of the Stirling Machine in a laboratory environment. In close collaboration with some universities, we have developed the Dynamometer Test-Stand for Stirling Machines STD20, which we have now added to our product portfolio.
Stirling Engine Dynamometer STD20
    Features:
  • nominal mechanical power: 2 kW
  • nominal torque: 13 Nm, widely overloadable, especially at low velocities
  • velocity range: -1500 1/min … 1500 1/min
  • 4-quadrant operation (dynamometer can drive or brake the device under test (DUT), in clockwise and counterclockwise direction), thereby being able to start and operate it as motor, refrigerator or heat-pump
  • precise electrical heating of the DUT with up to 7kW and up to 850°C
  • comprehensive and state-of-the-art instrumentation, data acquisition and software solutions for the acquisition, computation and presentations of velocities, torque, pressure, and temperatures
  • visualization of measurements as pV-diagrams, etc.

The Electrical Heater Hood EHH70  

Laboratory experiments, demonstrations and test-runs often require the operation of Stirling Engines within closed rooms, without exhausts and fumes, with precisely controlled temperatures of the heater-head. For these and similar applications we now offer the electrical heater hood EHH70 which was purpose-designed for the experimental Stirling machine ST05G-CNC and which is utilized in our dynamometer test stand STD20, as a stand-alone product.

    Features:
  • 3-phase electrical heating
  • robust tubular heating elements, electrical power: 7kW
  • temperatures up to 850°C within the heater hood
  • thermally insulated heating chamber
  • coaxial stainless steel design with fan to cool outer surfaces
  • robust type „K“ (chromel-alumel) thermocouple for precise sensing and control of the hood-temperature
  • hot air fan within the heating chamber for even temperature distribution and efficient heat transfer
  • optional control cabinet with digital temperature controller and solid state relais (SSR)
